My name is Paul Jones and I became a PR and sponsorship writer for the motorsport industry to help you make a compelling case on the benefits a potential sponsor can accrue from partnering with your racing team.
An enthusiasm for motorsport and marketing
My passion for motorsport, particularly Formula One, began as a small boy growing up in the 1980s. Gripped by the rivalry between Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna, I soon developed aspirations of becoming a racing driver. But, it wasn’t to be so I did the ‘sensible’ thing and continued with my studies. During that time, I found out that I was very enthusiastic about marketing, particularly advertising and promotion, and finding out what makes customers tick.
After completing my studies, I worked in marketing for the leisure industry, writing content for advertising and brochures. I then went freelance, writing business reports for the pharmaceutical industry, and press releases for a variety of markets. It was then that I developed a keen interest in ground-breaking drug therapies and wearable health technology. This mixture of creative customer advertising/PR and business writing experience enables me to not only help your team to engage with your fans at an emotional level but also present a strong business case on why sponsors should partner your team.
How I work
The most rewarding part of work for me is seeing you succeed as a racing team. When we work together, I will strive to understand your goals and objectives so that you will get press and sponsorship materials that are tailored to your needs and strikes a chord with your fans and potential sponsors.
